Character Overview

Pros

  • Versatile playstyle options for novel gameplay, even in the same team.
  • Fairly high Base ATK relative to other 4-star characters.
  • Relatively straightforward combos at a baseline.
  • Many flexible teammate options outside his ideal team cores.
  • Pers.

Cons

  • High ER requirements (for a DPS unit) before activating his C2.
  • Optimal combos that may be difficult to achieve in many scenarios.
  • Heavy reliance on Furina and Escoffier to reach his damage ceiling in his typical playstyle.
  • Limited availability of Hydro teammates who can reliably enable Shatter.

Playstyles

Freminet has a variety of playstyles, all of which can be viable in Floor 12 of Spiral Abyss and Dire Mode in Stygian Onslaught (with appropriate teammates, builds, and investment). Some of Freminet’s teams can be played in either his Cryo or Physical Skill playstyle; in such cases, the DPS is similar between the two variations (assuming comparable builds and enemy RES stats).

As an on-field DPS, his teammates should deploy their abilities before he takes the field to enter his Burst state.

Cryo Skill DPS

As a Cryo Skill DPS, Freminet spams his Skill to dish out as many instances of Level 0 Shattering Pressure as possible (typically 4–6 times per rotation). Depending on the team, Freminet deals a good amount of Physical damage (25-35% of total damage) since he weaves Normal Attacks in during his Skill cooldown.

Physical Skill DPS

As a Physical Skill DPS, Freminet weaves Normal Attacks between Skill uses to reach Level 4 Shattering Pressure (typically 3–4 times per rotation). Depending on the team, Freminet still deals a decent amount of Cryo damage (10-15% of total damage) from his Pers Timer state’s coordinated Cryo damage and his Burst.

In Hyperbloom teams, this is almost always Freminet’s best build and playstyle.

Plunging Attack DPS

When paired with Xianyun, Freminet becomes a viable Plunging Attack DPS. At Constellation 3 or great, he has the highest Plunging Attack Talent multiplier in the entire game. Freminet does not use his Burst in this playstyle.

Depending on his other teammates, Freminet deals Physical, Cryo, or Pyro damage (Melt or Vape).

Talents

Talent Priority

Skill DPS: Skill > Normal Attack >>> Burst
Plunging DPS: Normal Attack > Skill

Freminet should prioritize his Skill to boost his Shattering Pressure damage. As a Physical Skill DPS, his Normal Attacks comprise roughly a third of his personal damage; as a Cryo Skill DPS, they account for roughly a tenth.

Freminet’s Burst is quite weak and mainly used to activate his Subnautical Hunter state in non–Plunging Attack DPS teams, so it can be leveled last if you have spare resources.

Talent Overview

Normal Attack
Normal Attack | Flowing Eddies

Normal Attack
Performs up to 4 consecutive strikes.

Charged Attack
Drains Stamina over time to perform continuous spinning attacks against all nearby opponents.
At the end of the sequence, performs a more powerful slash.

Plunging Attack
Plunges from mid-air to strike the ground below, damaging opponents along the path and dealing AoE DMG upon impact.

Freminet’s Normal Attack Talent is important in all of his playstyles. As a Physical Skill DPS, he weaves in Normal Attacks to boost the level of Shattering Pressure. In both his Physical and Cryo Skill DPS playstyles, Freminet typically uses 1–2 Normal Attacks during his Skill cooldown.

As a Plunging Attack DPS, this is Freminet’s most important Talent. Fun fact: at Constellation 3 and greater, Freminet has the highest Plunging Attack multiplier in the game.

Elemental Skill
Elemental Skill | Pressurized Floe

Performs an upward thrust that deals Cryo DMG and causes Freminet to enter Pers Timer for 10s.

While Pers Timer is active, his Elemental Skill will turn into Shattering Pressure.

Shattering Pressure
Executes different sorts of attacks based on the Pressure Level of Pers Timer, and then cancels Pers Timer.

  • Level 0: Unleashes a vertical cut, dealing Cryo DMG.
  • Levels 1 to 3: Unleashes a vertical cut alongside Pers, dealing Cryo DMG and Physical DMG. DMG dealt scales based on Pressure Level.
  • Level 4: Borrows the power of a fully-pressurized Pers to deal Physical DMG. Meanwhile, Normal Attack: Flowing Eddies will be replaced by Shattering Pressure.

Pers Timer
When Freminet uses Normal Attacks, he will also unleash waves of frost that deal Cryo DMG and increase Pers’s Pressure Level.

The accompanying Cryo DMG dealt this way is considered Elemental Skill DMG.

Arkhe: Pneuma
At certain intervals, after using the upward thrust, a Spiritbreath Thorn in the form of another upward thrust will be created, dealing Pneuma-aligned Cryo DMG.

Freminet’s Elemental Skill is the core of his kit outside his Plunging DPS playstyle. Upon cast, Freminet enters the Pers Timer state, which causes a pressure gauge to appear at Pressure Level 0.

In this state, each Normal Attack deals coordinated Cryo damage and increases the Pressure Level until the gauge reaches Pressure Level 4. At any Pressure Level, pressing Freminet’s Skill ends the Pers Timer state and causes him to unleash Shattering Pressure. At only Pressure Level 4, pressing his Normal Attack also ends the Pers Timer state.

Shattering Pressure’s damage depends on the Pressure Level. Each level of Shattering Pressure increases the proportion of Physical damage dealt and decreases the proportion of Cryo damage dealt. When executing combos, Physical Freminet consistently casts Level 4 Shattering Pressure, whereas Cryo Freminet consistently casts Level 0 Shattering Pressure.

Freminet’s Skill also deals Pneuma-aligned Cryo damage once every 9s, so it is possible to proc twice in a rotation if he stays on-field for his Burst’s entire duration.

Note that Freminet’s Pers Timer state persists after using his Burst, so he should preemptively cast his Skill to maximize use of his Burst state duration.

Elemental Burst
Elemental Burst | Shadowhunter’s Ambush

Unleashes a wave of untouchable cold, dealing AoE Cryo DMG, resetting the CD of the Elemental Skill “Pressurized Floe,” and causing Freminet to enter the Subnautical Hunter mode for 10s.

While in Subnautical Hunter mode, Freminet’s resistance to interruption will increase, and his Elemental Skill “Pressurized Floe” will obtain the following buffs:

  • CD is decreased by 70%.
  • Normal Attacks will increase the Pers Timer by 1 additional Pressure Level, and the frost released by his Normal Attacks deal 200% of their original DMG.

These effects will be canceled when Freminet leaves the field.

Casting Freminet’s Burst resets his Skill cooldown and causes him to enter the Subnautical Hunter state. For its 10s duration, Freminet’s Skill cooldown decreases by 70% and his Cryo coordinated attack damage doubles.

Every Normal Attack performed under Pers Timer and Subnautical Hunter (Skill and Burst states) increases the Pressure Level by 2. This allows Freminet to reach Level 4 Shattering Pressure with only 2 Normal Attacks.

Note that Freminet’s Pers Timer state persists after using his Burst, so he should preemptively cast his Skill to maximize use of his Burst state duration.

Ascension 1 Passive
Ascension 1 Passive | Saturation Deep Dive

When Freminet unleashes Pressurized Floe: Shattering Pressure, if Pers Timer has yet to reach Pressure Level 4, the CD of Pressurized Floe will be decreased by 1s.

Freminet’s A1 Passive shortens his Skill cooldown by 1s if he has not reached Pressure Level 4. Combined with his Burst state, he can churn out many instances of Shattering Pressure in his Cryo DPS playstyle.

Ascension 4 Passive
Ascension 4 Passive | Parallel Condensers

When Freminet triggers Shatter against opponents, the DMG dealt by Pressurized Floe: Shattering Pressure will be increased by 40% for 5s.

Freminet’s A4 Passive greatly increases the damage dealt by Shattering Pressure after he triggers Shatter. This passive uniquely encourages the inclusion of off-field Hydro teammates so he can shatter Frozen enemies.

Utility Passive
Utility Passive | Deepwater Navigation

Decreases Aquatic Stamina consumption for your own party members by 35%.

Not stackable with Passive Talents that provide the exact same effects.

Freminet decreases underwater Stamina consumption by 35%, which can make Fontaine exploration more enjoyable.

Constellations

Calcs for Constellation DPS increases can be found here (last updated for Version 6.1).

Freminet’s Constellations provide a fairly decent upgrade to his personal damage in all of his playstyles. Only his C1 and C4 are mediocre.

Constellation 1
Constellation 1 | Dreams of the Foamy Deep

The CRIT Rate of Pressurized Floe: Shattering Pressure will be increased by 15%.

Freminet’s C1 is a small buff to his overall damage output; however, it becomes useless if his CRIT Rate is capped.

Constellation 2
Constellation 2 | Penguins and the Land of Plenty

Unleashing Pressurized Floe: Shattering Pressure will restore 2 Energy to Freminet. If a Pressure Level 4 Shattering Pressure is unleashed, this will restore 3 Energy.

Freminet’s C2 significantly reduces his ER requirements, which lets him invest into more offensive stats. In a typical rotation, Freminet gains 9–12 Energy depending on how many times he activates Shattering Pressure.

This is by far Freminet’s most impactful Constellation for quality of life, especially with previously high ER requirements.

Constellation 3
Constellation 3 | Song of the Eddies and Bleached Sands

Increases the Level of Normal Attack: Flowing Eddies by 3.
Maximum upgrade level is 15.

Freminet’s Normal Attacks contribute a good portion of his overall damage in either of his Skill DPS playstyles.

This Constellation is extremely relevant to his Plunging Attack DPS playstyle.

Constellation 4
Constellation 4 | Dance of the Snowy Moon and Flute

When Freminet triggers Frozen, Shatter, or Superconduct against opponents, his ATK will be increased by 9% for 6s. Max 2 stacks. This can be triggered once every 0.3s.

In most teams, Freminet maintains consistent uptime on his C4’s 18% ATK buff.

Constellation 5
Constellation 5 | Nights of Hearth and Happiness

Increases the Level of Pressurized Floe by 3.
Maximum upgrade level is 15.

Freminet’s Skill comprises the majority of his overall damage in his non-Plunging Attack DPS playstyles, which makes his C5 quite valuable.

Constellation 6
Constellation 6 | Moment of Waking and Resolve

When Freminet triggers Frozen, Shatter, or Superconduct against opponents, his CRIT DMG will be increased by 12% for 6s. Max 3 stacks. This can be triggered once every 0.3s.

Freminet’s final Constellation essentially gives him a free 36% CRIT DMG buff since he consistently triggers Frozen, Shatter, or Superconduct while on-field.

Combos

  • N = Normal Attack
  • C = Charged Attack
  • A = Aimed Shot
  • P = Plunging Attack
  • hP = High Plunge
  • lP = Low Plunge
  • E = Elemental Skill
  • tE = Tap Skill
  • hE = Hold Skill
  • Q = Elemental Burst
  • D = dash (cancel)
  • J = jump (cancel)
  • W = walk (cancel)
  • > = switch character
  • ( ) = these actions are optional; please refer to the notes below
  • [ ] = repeat these actions the specified number of times

Note that these are fundamental combos. Variations of these combos can more effectively trigger teammate coordinated abilities or time certain reactions. Freminet’s entire attack sequence is sometimes cut short to min-max rotation length and recast teammate abilities with short cooldowns.

EQE 4[2E N11] 2E

1Can be N2 in some teams or iterations.
Cryo Skill DPS

This combo maximizes the number of Pressure Level 0 casts per rotation. There are about 0.5s to weave in a Normal Attack before Freminet’s Skill goes off cooldown during his Burst, but some teams prefer 2 Normal Attacks to trigger teammate coordinated abilities.

The exact combo requires precise inputs and ideal enemy scenarios, so with imperfect gameplay, the final Level 0 Shattering Pressure may be omitted. The full sequence can be easier to execute with cooldown reduction and Attack SPD buffs.
EQ N2E 3[EN2E N11]2

1Can be N2 in some teams or iterations.
2The last iteration is often only EN2E or EN3E.
Physical Skill DPS

This combo maximizes the number of Pressure Level 4 casts per rotation. In most teams and enemy scenarios, Freminet’s Burst state ends before or during the final combo, so EN3E is necessary to reach Pressure Level 4. Hitlag extension and Attack SPD buffs can make this full combo easier to execute.
2E 8[JPD1] (Q) 2E

1The last dash can be omitted.
Cryo Plunging DPS

This combo fits 8 High Plunges and 2 Level 0 Shattering Pressure casts. The last Level 0 Shattering Pressure is usually included to fill teammate downtime.
E N1 3[JPN1] JPE 4[JPD1] (Q EN2E)

1The last dash can be omitted.
Physical or Pyro Plunging DPS

This combo fits 8 High Plunges and 1 Level 4 Shattering Pressure cast. The last Level 0 Shattering Pressure is sometimes included to fill teammate downtime.

In Melt teams, the woven Normal Attacks are omitted. 6 or 7 High Plunges may only be possible due to Cryo aura timing from teammate abilities and the enemy’s position.

Artifacts

ER Requirements

Calcs for ER requirements can be found here (last updated for Version 6.1). The spreadsheet contains every example team in this guide (and more). Teammates hold Favonius weapons when sensible.

Freminet has significantly lower ER requirements upon activating his C2. Pre-C2 and post-C2 ER requirements are provided. Note that Plunging Attack DPS Freminet doesn’t need his Burst, so he does not build ER in that playstyle.

Artifact Stats

Calcs for main stat comparisons can be found here (last updated for Version 6.1).

Sands

Goblet

Circlet
ATK% ≥ EMElemental DMG Bonus ≥ ATK%CRIT DMG or CRIT Rate

Stat Priority: ER (until requirement) > CRIT > ATK% ≥ EM

Freminet typically prefers an ATK% Sands; however, an EM Sands can perform just as well against Freezable enemies, especially in teams with plentiful DMG and ATK buffs. An ER Sands can also be used if Freminet has ER requirements greater than 150%.

An Elemental DMG Bonus Goblet (Cryo, Physical, or Pyro) should be chosen based on playstyle. However, an ATK% Goblet can outperform with better substats in his Skill DPS playstyle, especially in teams with DMG buffs.

Consider Cryo Resonance, 4pc set effects, Freminet’s C1, and weapon secondary stats and passives to avoid overcapping on CRIT Rate.

Note that Freminet should not build full EM artifacts to maximize Shatter damage. However, there may be greater damage gains from EM substats than from ATK% substats after Freminet reaches a certain stat threshold.

We recommend using Genshin Optimizer to compare your actual artifacts for your given team and playstyle.

Artifact Sets

Calcs for artifact set comparisons can be found here (last updated for Version 6.1).

Freminet’s optimal artifact set depends on his weapon, teammates, playstyle, and substats. Consider using Genshin Optimizer.

Cryo Skill DPS

4pc Blizzard Strayer (BS)
4pc BS is one of Freminet’s best artifact sets in his Cryo Skill DPS playstyle, even with lower Freeze aura uptime due to Shatter.

4pc GT and 4pc MH can be alternatives against enemies that cannot be Frozen.

4pc Golden Troupe (GT)
4pc GT is another top pick if you can consistently execute 5–6 casts of Level 0 Shattering Pressure in a rotation. It performs on par with 2pc set combinations if Freminet executes only 4 casts.

4pc Marechaussee Hunter (MH)
4pc MH is a great option in teams with Furina; however, it is marginally worse than 4pc BS and 4pc GT if Freminet holds Serpent Spine or another weapon with a CRIT Rate secondary stat.

4pc Pale Flame (PF)
4pc PF is still a good option for Cryo Freminet due to its 4-piece set effect and his Physical Normal Attacks during Skill downtime. It performs as well as the 2pc set combinations below.

2pc Mixed Sets
2pc Bonuses: Golden Troupe, Blizzard Strayer, ATK%, EM

2pc set combinations can be used while farming for one of the 4pc sets above. Against enemies that can be Frozen, 2pc EM set bonuses can be competitive with ATK%.

Physical Skill DPS

4pc Pale Flame (PF)
4pc PF is one of Freminet’s best artifact sets in his Physical Skill DPS playstyle, even in teams with Furina. Its value diminishes if Freminet wields a weapon with an ATK% secondary stat, such as Tidal Shadow.

4pc Marechaussee Hunter (MH)
4pc Marechaussee Hunter is a top pick for Freminet in teams with Furina. However, 4pc PF outperforms if he holds Serpent Spine or another weapon with a CRIT Rate secondary stat.

4pc Blizzard Strayer (BS)
4pc BS can still be a decent pick in teams with off-field Cryo and Hydro application. However, it usually performs worse than or on par with 2pc set combinations listed below.

2pc Mixed Sets
2pc Bonuses: Physical DMG Bonus, Golden Troupe, ATK%, EM

2pc set combinations can be used while farming for one of the 4pc sets above. Against enemies that can be Frozen, 2pc EM set bonuses can be competitive with ATK%.

Plunging Attack DPS

4pc Long Night’s Oath (LNO)
4pc LNO is Freminet’s unequivocal best-in-slot artifact set in any Plunging Attack DPS team. Other options perform roughly 10% worse.

4pc Pale Flame (PF)
4pc PF is the second-best artifact set for Freminet’s Physical Plunging Attack DPS playstyle.

4pc Marechaussee Hunter (MH)
4pc MH can be a viable alternative to 4pc LNO in Plunging Attack DPS teams with Furina. In Physical teams, 4pc PF is often still better.

2pc Mixed Sets
2pc Bonuses: Long Night’s Oath, DMG%, ATK%, EM

2pc combinations can be used while farming for 4pc LNO. EM is only relevant in Melt or Vape Plunging Attack teams with C6 Bennett; ATK% is still far better in Cryo Plunging Attack teams with Chongyun, even considering Shatter.

Note that 4pc Crimson Witch of Flames performs on par with 2pc Long Night’s Oath + 2pc EM in Melt teams.

Weapons

Calcs for weapon comparisons can be found here (last updated for Version 6.1).

Freminet’s weapon rankings are fairly stable between his playstyles. Special considerations are noted when applicable.

4Tidal Shadow
R5 Tidal Shadow is one of Freminet’s best 4-star options, outclassing R1 Serpent Spine in Furina teams when Freminet holds 4pc Marechaussee Hunter.

4Serpent Spine
Serpent Spine is another one of Freminet’s best 4-star options. It fares better than R5 Tidal Shadow in Furina teams when Freminet doesn’t hold 4pc Marechaussee Hunter. It is also Freminet’s second-best option overall in Melt Plunging Attack teams.
Note that Serpent Spine’s passive stacks reset when Freminet takes damage, so having a shield can help avoid this. It is still one of his best options even if he loses stacks.

5A Thousand Blazing Suns, Fang of the Mountain King
A Thousand Blazing Suns and Fang of the Mountain King are Freminet’s best 5-star options in both of his Skill DPS playstyles. They offer fantastic stats and relevant passives. At R1, they are roughly 10% better than his best 4-star options.

5Song of Broken Pines
Song of Broken Pines is a solid pick for Freminet in Physical DPS playstyles. At R1, its Attack SPD buff only permits one additional Normal Attack. Higher refinements allow additional woven Normal Attacks only in his Physical Skill DPS playstyle.
Note that Freminet stacks Sigils of Whispers partway into the first rotation, so the full passive buff desyncs in later rotations. This usually results in Freminet receiving no additional passive buff in the third rotation.

5Skyward Pride
Skyward Pride is Freminet’s best option if his ER requirements exceed 150%. When his C2 is unlocked, Freminet’s ER requirements decrease significantly, thereby diminishing this weapon’s value. Nonetheless, it’s a solid option if you have it and want to save billets or money.

Other 5Claymores
Beacon of the Reed Sea, Redhorn Stonethresher, The Unforged, Verdict, Wolf’s Gravestone

These 5-star Claymores perform on par or slightly better than Serpent Spine or Tidal Shadow. They are not necessarily worth pulling for Freminet, but they can be used if you have one lying around.

4★ Fruitful Hook
Fruitful Hook at high refinements is a solid option in Freminet’s Plunging Attack DPS teams.

At equal refinements, R1 Fruitful Hook is significantly worse than R1 Serpent Spine, but R5 Fruitful Hook is slightly better than R5 Serpent Spine.

4★ Mailed Flower
R5 Mailed Flower is consistently Freminet’s third-best 4-star option in all his playstyles with his best 4pc artifact sets. If you managed to obtain it during Version 3.5, it can be a decent option if you wish to save billets by avoiding Tidal Shadow.

Teams

  • N = Normal Attack
  • C = Charged Attack
  • A = Aimed Shot
  • P = Plunging Attack
  • E = Elemental Skill
  • tE = Tap Skill
  • hE = Hold Skill
  • Q = Elemental Burst
  • D = dash (cancel)
  • J = jump (cancel)
  • W = walk (cancel)
  • > = switch character
  • ( ) = these actions are optional; please refer to the notes below
  • [ ] = repeat these actions the specified number of times

Teambuilding

  • An off-field Hydro applier lets Freminet trigger Shatter, which boosts his Shattering Pressure damage.
  • A Cryo teammate lowers Freminet’s ER requirements and can provide other utility like buffs and Cryo Resonance.
  • In teams with Furina, a healer is necessary to offset her HP drain.
  • If Freminet holds Serpent Spine, a shielder can help maintain its passive stacks.
  • Favonius weapons are highly recommended on teammates to lower Freminet’s ER requirements, especially when he is C0–C1.

Cryo Skill DPS

Freminet — Furina / Hydro — Escoffier / Cryo / Flex — Flex

As a Cryo Skill DPS, Freminet spams his Skill to dish out as many instances of Level 0 Shattering Pressure as possible (typically 4–6 times per rotation). An off-field Hydro applier enables Frozen and Shatter, while a Cryo support lowers Freminet’s ER requirements and enables Cryo Resonance. With Escoffier on the team, the final slot should be another Hydro or Cryo character.

Many teams of this archetype deal comparable damage with Freminet as a Physical Skill DPS. In such cases, you can opt for the playstyle that is more suited to the enemy scenario or that you have more fun playing!

Notable Teammates

Furina
Furina is Freminet’s best Hydro teammate. She provides a fantastic DMG% buff and deals great off-field damage. While her Hydro application is variable, it is still more than enough to consistently enable Shatter.

The team does require a healer to maintain Fanfare stacks through multiple rotations; Escoffier is the premier pairing in this regard.

Furina can hold 4pc TotM to further buff Freminet, but 4pc GT is still viable (especially at higher investment into Furina).

Yelan
Yelan’s Burst provides great off-field damage and a ramping DMG% buff to Freminet while he’s on-field. She is a viable alternative to Furina, but they also work well together with Yelan in the final flex spot.
In some teams, Yelan can cast her Skill twice per rotation.

Xingqiu
Xingqiu is the best 4-star Hydro option for Freminet because of hissolid off-field Hydro damage and application. He also lends a small quality-of-life buff through his Rain Swords’ damage reduction and interruption resistance.

Kokomi

Aino

Cryo

Escoffier
Escoffier is Freminet’s ideal Cryo teammate. She deals amazing off-field damage, constantly shreds enemy Hydro and Cryo RES, and heals enough to offset Furina’s HP drain. Furthermore, her RES Shred occurs without the need to trigger Swirl.

With Escoffier, the team should only consist of Hydro and Cryo characters to maximize her RES Shred. Escoffier’s build should prioritize her personal DPS.

Shenhe
Shenhe is a great Cryo buffer due to her Cryo and Physical RES Shred and various sources of DMG Bonus. Her Icy Quill effect further increases Freminet’s Cryo damage.

With Freminet as a Cryo Skill DPS, Shenhe should tap her Elemental Skill for her A4 Passive’s Elemental Skill DMG buff. However, holding her Elemental Skill for a Normal Attack DMG buff is only a minor damage decrease in exchange for an additional Cryo particle.

She ideally holds 4pc Noblesse Oblige and Favonius Lance, while trying to maximize her ATK stat.

Rosaria
Rosaria is another solid Cryo option thanks to her high personal damage, great particle generation, and CRIT Rate share.
She should hold 4pc Noblesse Oblige and Favonius Lance, while trying to maximize her CRIT Rate stat.

Chongyun
Chongyun is a solid choice in Freminet’s teams due to his Skill’s Cryo Infusion and his C2’s cooldown reduction. With Chongyun’s cooldown reduction, Freminet can more consistently fit 6 Level 0 Shattering Pressure casts in during his Burst state.

Chongyun can hold 4pc Noblesse Oblige and Favonius Greatsword. However, Sacrificial Greatsword is also a fine option as it allows greater uptime on Chongyun’s A4 Passive Cryo RES Shred and his C2’s cooldown reduction.

Citlali, Layla
Citlali and Layla are top picks for a shielder. A shield helps Freminet avoid taking damage, which limits Serpent Spine’s passive uptime. Additionally, Citlali’s Hydro RES Shred buffs the team’s Hydro damage.

Citlali can hold TTDS and 4pc Scroll, and Layla can hold Favonius Sword and 4pc TotM or 4pc NO.

Mika
Mika provides an Attack SPD buff, Physical DMG% buff, and healing that can offset Furina’s HP drain. His C6 is also a nice bonus to Freminet’s Physical damage.

Although Mika is more suited for Freminet’s Physical Skill DPS playstyle, he is still a solid pick since Freminet deals a good portion of Physical damage even as a Cryo Skill DPS.

Mika performs best holding 4pc Noblesse Oblige and Favonius Lance; however, 4pc Ocean-Hued Clam or 4pc Song of Days Past can be used if another teammate holds 4pc NO.

Charlotte

Diona

Ganyu

Kaeya

Flex

These characters provide buffs, defensive utility, or personal damage that Freminet and the team appreciate.

Xilonen
Xilonen is the premier buffer and healer in Freminet’s teams without Escoffier. She can maintain full uptime on her Cryo and Hydro RES Shred and DMG buffs since she can easily use her Skill twice per rotation.

Kazuha
Kazuha is a great Anemo option since he can buff Freminet’s Cryo DMG and shred enemy Cryo RES. In most rotations, Kazuha can consistently Swirl Cryo and inconsistently Swirl Hydro.

Lan Yan
Lan Yan is a great choice due to her ability to shield, shred enemy Cryo RES with 4pc VV, and massively buff Freminet’s ATK with TTDS.

If the team does not need a healer, she is the preferred Anemo defensive option.

Jean
Jean is a solid Anemo option thanks to her healing that can offset Furina’s HP drain.

Her C2 provides an Attack SPD buff, which can make Freminet’s full combo easier to execute.

Sayu may be a more accessible alternative to Jean as an Anemo healer.

Example Teams

This is not a comprehensive list of teams. The inclusion or exclusion of any given team does not necessarily reflect its power level.

Freminet — Furina — Escoffier — Shenhe / Rosaria / Chongyun / Layla

This is a great Furina-Escoffier team core with an additional Cryo teammate, which greatly reduces Freminet’s ER requirements. Each of the four Cryo options in the final slot provides their own unique mix of buffs. The team with Shenhe deals the most damage, while the other 3 variations deal roughly 15–20% lower DPS.

Sample Rotation (Shenhe)
Furina ED Q > Escoffier EQ > Shenhe hE¹Q > Freminet EQE 4[2E N2] 2E

¹Shenhe uses Hold Skill for the additional Cryo particle. Tap Skill can be used with sufficiently high ER.

Sample Rotation (Rosaria)
Furina ED Q > Escoffier EQ > Rosaria EQ > Freminet EQE 4[2E N2] 2E > (Rosaria E)¹

¹Rosaria can use an additional Skill for Energy if necessary.

Sample Rotation (Chongyun)
Furina ED Q > Escoffier EQ > Chongyun QE > Freminet EQE 4[2E N1]¹ 2E

¹With Chongyun’s C2 cooldown reduction, Freminet can weave in only 1 Normal Attack.

Sample Rotation (Layla)
Furina ED Q > Escoffier EQ > Layla QE > Freminet EQE 4[2E N2] 2E

Freminet — Furina — Escoffier — Yelan

This is one of Freminet’s premier teams in his Cryo Skill DPS playstyle. All of his teammates grant fantastic buffs and deal solid personal damage. Yelan can opt to cast 1 or 2 Skills per rotation, with the team DPS being comparable in either case.

Sample Rotation (Yelan 1 Skill)
Furina ED Q > Escoffier EQ > Yelan E N1/C¹ Q N1 > Freminet EQE 4[2E N2] 2E

¹Use a Charged Shot if Yelan’s Breakthrough Barb is available.

Sample Rotation (Yelan 2 Skills)
Furina ED N1 Q > Escoffier EQ > (Freminet 2E)¹ > Yelan Q N1 E N1 > Freminet Q 2[2E N2] 2E > Yelan N1 E N1

¹Skip in the first rotation.

Freminet — Furina — Xilonen — Chiori / Yelan / Rosaria

A solid team that is also viable in Freminet’s Physical Skill DPS playstyle. In the Yelan variation, Xilonen only triggers Hydro Crystallize; also, a 2-Skill rotation deals higher team damage than a 1-Skill rotation.

A team with Chiori or Yelan deals more damage than a team with Rosaria; however, Freminet’s ER requirement increases by 25%.

Sample Rotation (Chiori)

Limited Roster Alternatives

These teams are meant for newer players whose limited roster prevents them from using the teams above; as such, the teams below result in lower damage output.

Freminet — Xingqiu — Layla — Lynette

Xingqiu deals solid off-field Hydro damage. Layla provides shielding and can hold 4pc Noblesse Oblige or 4pc TotM. Lynette shreds enemy Cryo RES with 4pc Viridescent Venerer and applies additional Hydro or Cryo (depending on what her Burst absorbs).

Sample Rotation
Xingqiu ED Q N1 > Layla QE N1 > Lynette shEQ N1 > Freminet EQE 4[2E N2] 2E

Freminet — Aino — Kaeya — Sayu

This is a 4-star team with 2 freely accessible teammates. Aino performs worse than Xingqiu. Sayu provides 4pc VV and healing. Try to use 1–2 Favonius weapons.

Sample Rotation
Aino EQ > Kaeya EQ > Sayu shEQ > Freminet EQE 4[2E N2] > Kaeya E > Sayu shE N1

Physical Skill DPS

Freminet — Hydro / Flex — Cryo / Flex — Electro / Flex

As a Physical Skill DPS, Freminet weaves Normal Attacks between Skill uses to reach Level 4 Shattering Pressure (typically 4 times per rotation). This is Freminet’s most versatile team archetype, with Electro-less team options also letting Freminet be a Cryo Skill DPS.

An Electro teammate can enable Superconduct, which shreds enemy Physical RES. However, in teams with Furina and Escoffier, another Hydro or Cryo character often yields higher team DPS.

This is Freminet’s preferred playstyle in Hyperbloom teams since the Hyperbloom trigger enables Superconduct. Additionally, this archetype maximizes Dendro Core generation and instances of Shatter.

Notable Teammates

Hydro

Furina
Furina is Freminet’s best Hydro teammate. She provides a fantastic DMG% buff, deals great off-field damage, and lets Freminet hold 4pc Marechaussee Hunter.

She is a viable alternative to Furina, but they also work great together with Yelan in the final flex spot.
In some teams, Yelan can cast her Skill twice per rotation.

Xingqiu
Xingqiu is the best 4-star Hydro option for Freminet because of his fantastic off-field Hydro damage and application. He also lends a small quality of life buff through his Rain Swords’ damage reduction and interruption resistance.

Kokomi

Aino

Cryo

Escoffier
Escoffier is Freminet’s ideal Cryo teammate. She deals amazing off-field damage, constantly shreds enemy Hydro and Cryo RES, and heals enough to offset Furina’s HP drain. Even in Freminet’s Physical Skill DPS playstyle, the team’s Hydro damage and Cryo damage are still significant, so Escoffier’s RES Shred is quite impactful.

Escoffier’s build should prioritize her personal DPS.

Shenhe
Shenhe is a great Cryo buffer due to her Cryo and Physical RES Shred and various DMG Bonuses. Her Icy Quill effect further increases Freminet’s Cryo damage from his coordinated attacks.

With Freminet as a Physical Skill DPS, Shenhe should use her Hold Skill for a Normal Attack DMG buff and an additional Cryo particle.

She ideally holds 4pc Noblesse Oblige and Favonius Lance, while trying to maximize her ATK stat.

Rosaria
Rosaria is another solid Cryo option thanks to her high personal damage, great particle generation, and CRIT Rate share. Her C6’s Physical RES Shred is also appreciated.

She should hold 4pc Noblesse Oblige and Favonius Lance, while trying to maximize her CRIT Rate stat.

Mika
Mika provides an Attack SPD buff, Physical DMG% buff, and healing that can offset Furina’s HP drain. His Attack SPD buff can allow Freminet to occasionally weave N3 instead of N2. His C6 is also a nice bonus to Freminet’s Physical damage.

Mika performs best holding 4pc Noblesse Oblige and Favonius Lance; however, 4pc Ocean-Hued Clam or 4pc Song of Days Past can be used if another teammate holds 4pc NO.

Citlali, Layla
Citlali and Layla are top picks for a shielder. A shield helps Freminet avoid taking damage, which can limit Serpent Spine’s passive uptime. Additionally, Citlali’s Hydro RES Shred buffs the team’s Hydro damage.

Citlali can hold TTDS and 4pc Scroll, and Layla can hold Favonius Sword and 4pc TotM or 4pc NO.

Charlotte

Diona

Ganyu

Kaeya

Electro

Electro teammates enable Superconduct, which shreds enemy Physical RES. Preferred teammates deal solid personal damage while also providing buffs or quality of life benefits.

Ineffa
Ineffa shields and deals substantive off-field damage. She enables the Lunar-Charged reaction, which she and Freminet’s Hydro teammates can take advantage of. Ineffa is also a viable Hyperbloom trigger, on par with Shinobu.

Teams with lower teammate Cryo application help maximize Lunar-Charged uptime.

Fischl
Fischl provides unrivaled particle generation that lowers Freminet’s ER requirements. Freminet’s Normal Attack–focused Physical Skill DPS playstyle complements her C6.

Fischl alternates using her Burst and Skill in rotations.

Ororon
Ororon lowers Freminet’s ER requirements via his A4 Passive. He also deals solid off-field damage and can provide further buffs with 4pc Scroll or 4pc Noblesse Oblige.

He ideally holds Favonius Warbow or Elegy for the End.

Shinobu
Kuki Shinobu is a fantastic option for Freminet’s Hyperbloom teams since she consolidates healing while triggering Hyperbloom.

Yae Miko

Lisa

Iansan

Raiden

Dori

Beidou

Flex

These characters complement Freminet’s Physical Skill DPS playstyle by directly buffing his teammates’ damage. Zhongli and C5 Bennett also buff Freminet directly.

Freminet is a viable Hyperbloom-Shatter driver in his Physical Skill DPS playstyle, so Dendro teammates can be a good option!

Xilonen
Xilonen is a top pick in teams with Furina and without Escoffier due to her healing. Her RES Shred and DMG Bonus buffs only benefit Cryo and Hydro damage; however, teammate Cryo and Hydro damage still comprise a good proportion of the team’s overall damage.

Lauma
In Hyperbloom teams, Lauma maximizes Hyperbloom damage thanks to her Elemental Burst and A1 Passive. Her Elemental Skill’s Hydro RES Shred also lends a small boon to the team’s Hydro damage.

Nahida
In Hyperbloom teams, Nahida provides unrivaled Dendro application and an EM buff that increases Freminet’s Shatter damage.
Nahida should hold Wandering Evenstar if available to grant Freminet an ATK% buff.

Baizhu
In Hyperbloom teams, Baizhu consolidates the roles of healer, shielder, and Dendro applier. This can allow Raiden Shogun to be used instead of Kuki Shinobu or Ineffa.

Example Teams

This is not a comprehensive list of teams. The inclusion or exclusion of any given team does not necessarily reflect its power level.

Freminet — Furina — Escoffier — Shenhe / Rosaria / Yelan / Xingqiu

Despite lacking an Electro character, these team variations deal incredible team damage in Freminet’s Physical Skill playstyle. Escoffier’s Cryo and Hydro RES Shred significantly skews his premier team options.

Sample Rotation (Shenhe)
Furina ED Q > Escoffier EQ > Shenhe hEQ > Freminet EQ N2E 3[EN2E N1]

Sample Rotation (Rosaria)
Furina ED Q > Escoffier EQ > Rosaria EQ > Freminet EQ N2E 3[EN2E N1]

Sample Rotation (Yelan)

Sample Rotation (Xingqiu)
Xingqiu ED Q N1 > Furina ED Q N1 > Escoffier EQ N1 > Freminet E N1Q N2E 3[N1 EN2E]

Freminet — Furina — Escoffier — Fischl / Lisa / Ororon / Yae Miko

A more standard Physical Skill DPS archetype with an Electro teammate for Superconduct. Escoffier is still the optimal healing and Cryo slot, despite losing out on her maximum Cryo and Hydro RES Shred.

Sample Rotation (Fischl)

Freminet — Furina — Mika — Ineffa / Fischl / Shenhe / Rosaria

Mika, especially at C6, is a good teammate for Physical Skill DPS Freminet. Most notable among the flex slots, Ineffa enjoys Mika’s absent Cryo application that maximizes Lunar Charged uptime.

Sample Rotation (Ineffa)
Furina ED Q >Ineffa EQ > Mika Q hE > Fischl Q / E > Freminet E N1Q N2E 2[EN2E N2] EN3E

Sample Rotation (Fischl)

Sample Rotation (Rosaria)
Furina ED Q > Mika Q > Rosaria EQ > Mika hE N1 > Freminet EQ N2E 3[EN2E N2]

Freminet — Furina — Yelan / Xingqiu — Dori

Dori lowers Freminet’s ER requirements thanks to Favonius Greatsword and her Energy generation. Her healing (at C6) compensates for Furina’s HP drain and stacks Fanfare. Dori should hold 4pc Ocean-Hued Clam if possible.

Sample Rotation (Yelan)
Furina ED Q > Dori QE N1 > Yelan Q N1 E N1 > Freminet E N1Q N2E 2[EN2E N1] EN2E

Sample Rotation (Xingqiu)
Xingqiu ED Q N1 > Furina ED Q > Dori QE N1 > Freminet E N1Q N2E 3[N1 EN2E]

Freminet — Xingqiu — Lauma / Nahida — Shinobu

Freminet’s archetypal Hyperbloom driver team. He also deals decent Shatter damage with Nahida’s EM buff. Variations with Furina or Yelan instead of Xingqiu are also possible.

Sample Rotation (Lauma)
Xingqiu ED Q N1 > Lauma Q hE > Shinobu (Q) E N1 > Freminet E N1Q N2E 3[N1 EN2E]

Sample Rotation (Nahida)

Limited Roster Alternatives

These teams are meant for newer players whose limited roster prevents them from using the teams above; as such, the teams below result in lower damage output.

Freminet — Bennett (C5) — Rosaria — Fischl / Ororon

This is a solid 4-star team even without a Hydro character thanks to Bennett’s massive Flat ATK buff. The ER requirements in this team are fairly high, even with Fischl or Ororon, so Favonius weapons should be used on at least 2 teammates if possible.

Sample Rotation (Fischl)
(Fischl E)¹ > Bennett EQ > Rosaria EQ > Fischl Q / E > Freminet E N1Q N2E 2[EN2E N1] EN3E

¹First rotation only.

Sample Rotation (Ororon)
Ororon EQ > Bennett EQ > Rosaria EQ > Freminet E N1Q N2E 2[EN2E N1] EN3E

Freminet — Xingqiu — Mika — Fischl / Ororon

This is a decent team that enables Freminet’s full kit. Mika should hold 4pc NO or 4pc OHC with Favonius Lance. Fischl and Ororon help lower ER requirements.

Sample Rotation (Fischl)
(Fischl E)¹ > Xingqiu EDQ N1 > Mika Q hE N1 > Fischl N1Q / EN2 > Freminet E N1Q N2E 2[EN2E N2] EN3E

Xingqiu ED Q N1 > Mika Q N1 hE N1 > Ororon E N1 Q N1 > Freminet E N1Q N2E 2[EN2E N2] EN3E

Freminet — Xingqiu — Layla — Fischl / Ororon

This team trades Mika’s Physical DMG and Attack SPD buffs for Layla’s 4pc TotM buff and shield, which can help maintain Serpent Spine stacks.

Sample Rotation (Fischl)
(Fischl E)¹ > Xingqiu ED Q N1 > Layla QE N1 > Fischl N1Q / EN2 > Freminet E N1Q N2E 2[EN2E N2] EN3E

Plunging Attack DPS

Freminet — Xianyun — Flex — Flex

When paired with Xianyun, Freminet becomes a viable Plunging Attack DPS. Depending on his other teammates, Freminet deals Physical, Cryo, or Pyro damage (Melt or Vape). He has the highest Plunging Attack Talent multiplier in the entire game at Constellation 3 and greater, so this archetype approaches his damage ceiling. Among all of Freminet’s teams, his Pyro Plunging Attack Melt teams have the highest DPS at KQMS.

Freminet should perform High Plunges (at minimal height if possible). He can usually perform all 8 Plunging Attacks within Xianyun’s Burst window, but sometimes only 6 or 7 are possible in Melt teams. Freminet can also fit in 1 instance of Shattering Pressure in a rotation. He does not use his Burst in this playstyle.

Notable Teammates

Xianyun
Xianyun is a prerequisite to Freminet’s Plunging Attack DPS playstyle. She ideally holds Crane’s Echoing Call or Oathsworn Eye if you have it, but Favonius Codex and Prototype Amber are viable alternatives.

In Cryo teams, she can hold 4pc Viridescent Venerer, while in Physical teams, she can hold 4pc Ocean-Hued Clam. In Melt or Vape teams, she can hold either of the aforementioned sets, but the rotation changes slightly to accommodate a Pyro Swirl.

Note that 4pc Song of Days Past is only a viable alternative in single-target scenarios.

Bennett (C6)
Bennett’s C6 Pyro Infusion enables Freminet’s Pyro Plunging Attack DPS playstyle.

The best 4th slot is Citlali, since she enables Melt, shreds enemy Pyro RES, and grants a shield that prevents Freminet from becoming staggered and missing out on Plunging Attacks. Rosaria and C6 Kaeya can also enable Melt, but Freminet’s overall damage output is quite a bit lower.

Furina is also possible in the 4th slot, where she enables Freminet to Vaporize his Plunging Attacks. This Vape team performs on par with Freminet’s Melt teams with Rosaria or C6 Kaeya.

Chongyun
Chongyun enables Freminet’s Cryo Plunging Attack DPS playstyle. Furina or Escoffier is the preferred 4th slot option.

Furina
Furina is Freminet’s preferred partner in Physical Plunging Attack DPS teams, alongside an Electro support or off-field DPS. She is also a great pick in his Cryo Plunging Attack teams.

Furina should hold Favonius Sword to decrease the team’s ER requirements.

Furina can hold 4pc TotM to further buff Freminet, but 4pc GT is still viable, especially at higher investment into Furina.

Example Teams

This is not a comprehensive list of teams. The inclusion or exclusion of any given team does not necessarily reflect its power level.

Freminet — Xianyun — Bennett C6 — Citlali / Rosaria

This team allows Freminet to Melt all of his Pyro Plunging Attacks. However, careful timing is required to maintain a Cryo aura on the enemy, resulting in only 7 High Plunges. The variation with Citlali (on TTDS) is Freminet’s highest-damage team, but Bennett does require Favonius Sword at KQMS.

Sample Rotation (Citlali)
Xianyun EPQ > Bennett EQ > (Xianyun N2)¹ > Citlali EQ > Freminet 2[JPD JPD² JPE] JP > Bennett E N1

¹Swirl for 4pc VV.
²Wait 0.5s for Citlali’s Burst tick.

Sample Rotation (Rosaria)

¹Swirl for 4pc VV.
²Wait 0.3s for Rosaria’s Burst tick.

Freminet — Xianyun — Bennett C6 — Furina

This is Freminet’s ideal Pyro Vape Plunging Attack team. The combo below should enable every Plunging Attack to Vape, assuming average Salon Member RNG.

Sample Rotation
Furina ED Q > Xianyun EPQ > Bennett EQ (N1)¹ > (Xianyun N2)² > Freminet E N1 3[JPN1] JPE 2[JPD] JPE JPD > Bennett E

¹To secure Pyro aura.
²Swirl for 4pc VV.

Freminet — Xianyun — Chongyun — Furina / Escoffier

This is Freminet’s Cryo Plunging Attack team. With Furina, Freminet triggers Shatter with his Plunges; Xianyun consistently Swirls Cryo and inconsistently Swirls Hydro for 4pc VV. Note that the Cryo Infusion from Chongyun’s Skill may end prior to Freminet’s last 1-2 Plunging Attacks.

Sample Rotation (Furina)
Furina ED Q > Chongyun QE > Xianyun EPQ (N1)² > Freminet 2E 8[JPD] (Q)¹ 2E

¹Burst when available.
²Normal Attack for Hydro Swirl.

Sample Rotation (Escoffier)
Escoffier (Q)¹ E > Chongyun QE > Xianyun EPQ > Freminet 2E 8[JPD] (Q)¹ 2E

¹Burst when available.

Freminet — Xianyun — Furina — Fischl / Iansan / Lisa / Ororon

This is Freminet’s preferred Physical Plunging DPS team composition. All 4-star Electro character variations perform similarly (assuming C6). Lisa should hold R5 Prototype Amber for her incredibly high ER requirements. Xianyun prefers 4pc OHC.

Sample Rotation (Fischl)
(Fischl E)¹ > Furina ED Q > Xianyun EPQ > Fischl Q / E > Freminet E N1 3[JPN1] JPE 4[JPD]
